On the extreme eastern shores of the Poets' Gulf, during the medieval times Lerici was a strategic beach head. From the foot of its castle, along the panoramic road one can reach the little town of Fiascherino, an enchanted place where the celebrated D. H. Lawrence, author of "Lady Chatterley's Lover", sought refuge and inspiration with his beloved companion Frieda, at the turn of the XXth century. A fancy seaside resort, frequented by the upper crust of society and by celebrities, Fiascherino offers one of the most pleasant landscapes in Liguria, along a tract of the coastline of great environmental interest.
